So many changes
It was a tough winter in Frontenac as we said goodbye to our 17-year-old Jack Russell Patches. he was my first dog as an adult, and he was MY BOY. I think I started going through my grief and my depression around this time because I had not grieved anything at this point. I started trying to write my book, but it was so weird, I simply could not write, the words were not there, and I found myself getting more and more depressed. I, of course, was not sharing that with anyone, but I was going through a lot and did not know how to process it.
When Thanksgiving came around, we went to Sean’s mom’s house to celebrate. Sean’s brother brought a puppy with him; his dogs had a litter, and he was getting the pup to meet the family. My husband wanted one of his dogs so bad, I kept saying NO! I did not want another dog…I did not want to be tied down or unable to go places. We had just put one dog down, I was not ready for another. Sean told me that if we got the dog, it was not going to affect us and that he would take on all responsibility… I said, well, if we get another dog, it’s going to be small, cuddly, and her name is going to be Maggie Grace. Sean loved it. He said OK, so we met the pups, and Maggie Grace was instantly ours. I had NO IDEA of how much a little dog was going to change my life and heal my heart!
We brought Maggie home, and all three of us, my hubby, our son, and I, were all HOOKED! She stole our hearts from day 1!
She healed our hearts and our souls, she was even right by our side when we got sick. Dogs just know!
We had so much fun with our little Maggie Grace, she got along with our other Jack Russell Annaabelle and Jake’s cat Buddy. She was a friend to me during the day, and the guys could not wait to get home to play with her at night. She was such a gift!
Next BIG move was to LAKE CITY!
