đWhen your body feels like a stranger
When Your Body Feels Like a Stranger
Scripture:
âMy grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.â â 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
Perimenopause is weird, yâall.
One minute youâre fine. The next minute youâre hot, irritated, emotional, wide awake at 3 a.m., wondering why your jeans suddenly fit differently and Googling whether forgetting why you walked into the kitchen means your brain has officially retired. đ
And underneath all the funny memes and âis it hot in here?â jokes, there can be something a little deeper happening.
Sometimes you just donât feel like you.
Your body changes. Your energy changes. Your emotions can feel unpredictable. Things that never bothered you suddenly bother you A LOT. And if we arenât careful, we can start believing that because we feel different, somehow weâve become less.
Girl, no.
You are still the woman God created you to be.
Your worth was never tucked inside a number on the scale, wrinkle-free skin, perfectly balanced hormones, endless energy, or your ability to hold everything together.
Your identity has always been in Jesus.
And maybe this season isnât asking you to become the woman you used to be.
Maybe God is teaching you how to walk with Him as the woman you are becoming.
There are days when you may feel strong and capable. There are other days when you may want to crawl under a blanket, turn your phone off, and tell everybody to fend for themselves. đ
His grace is sufficient for both.
You donât have to pretend this season is easy to trust that God is good in it.
You can tell Him,
âLord, I donât understand what is happening with me today.â
You can bring Him the anxious thoughts.
The changing body.
The frustration.
The exhaustion.
The tears that showed up for absolutely NO REASON. đđ
He is not intimidated by any of it.
And hereâs something I think women need to hear more often:
Changing does not mean disappearing.
There is still purpose in you.
There is still beauty in you.
There is still fire in you.
There are still dreams God has placed in your heart.
This chapter may look different than the ones before it, but different doesnât mean downhill.
Sometimes different means deeper.
Deeper faith.
Deeper wisdom.
Deeper confidence in who God says you are.
Deeper understanding that you donât have to control everything because Jesus is already holding you.
So when your body feels unfamiliar and your emotions feel like theyâre running the group chat without your permission, remember this:
You belong to Jesus.
You are loved.
You are valuable.
And God is not finished with you.
Not even close. đ
Heart Check
Have the changes youâre experiencing made you question your worth, your beauty, or who you are? What would change today if you chose to see yourself through Godâs eyes instead?
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for loving me through every season of my life. When I feel uncomfortable in my changing body or overwhelmed by my emotions, remind me that my identity is secure in You. Give me grace for the hard days, wisdom to care for myself, and peace when I donât feel like myself. Help me embrace the woman Youâre shaping me into instead of mourning the woman I used to be. Amen. đ¤
Takeaway
Youâre not losing yourself in this seasonâGod is still growing you. đż
