Use What’s Already in Your Hands

Scripture:
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace…”1 Peter 4:10 NIV

Have you ever prayed, “God, show me what I’m supposed to do,” and you can almost hear Him saying…

Girl. I already did. 😂

Because sometimes we’re waiting for God to drop a giant flashing neon sign from Heaven while He’s pointing at the gifts, ideas, talents, opportunities, and little sparks He already placed right in front of us.

And listen—I get it.

It’s easy to think we need one more thing before we start.

One more class.
One more confirmation.
One more person to tell us we’re good enough.
One more perfectly organized plan.

Meanwhile, God may simply be saying:

Use what I gave you.

Remember when we were kids and could turn a cardboard box into a Barbie mansion, a spaceship, or an entire McDonald’s drive-thru? 😂 We didn’t sit there complaining that we didn’t have the right supplies.

We used what we had.

Somewhere along the way, adulthood convinced us everything has to be perfectly figured out before we move.

But God has never required perfect.

He asks for faithfulness.

That idea you keep thinking about?
That gift you keep brushing off because “everybody can do that”?
That thing people constantly come to you for help with?

Maybe it isn’t random.

Maybe it’s part of what God put in your hands.

And your assignment doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

God didn’t accidentally give you your personality, your creativity, your experiences, your story, your voice, and your passions.

There are people you can reach simply because you’re you.

So instead of asking God to give you somebody else’s tools, maybe today we ask Him to show us how to faithfully use our own.

You don’t have to know where it’s going.

You just have to take the next step.

Heart Check 💗

What gift, idea, dream, or opportunity have you been sitting on because you don’t feel completely ready?

What if God isn’t asking you to feel ready?

What if He’s simply asking you to start?

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for the gifts You’ve placed inside me. Forgive me for the times I’ve overlooked them, compared them to someone else’s, or waited until I felt “ready” to use them. Show me what You’ve already placed in my hands and give me the courage to use it for Your glory. Lead my next step, and help me trust You with everything after that. Amen. 💗

Today’s takeaway:
✨ You might not need something new from God—you might just need to start using what He already gave you.
